VA Health Care

The VA operates the nation's largest health care system with over 1500 treatment sites.  There's a new VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (primary care) located at 144 Eastern Blvd., Watertown, NY  13601 (Northland Plaza) with limited specialty care services in Watertown at 19472 US Route 11, C.A.N.I. Bldg. They can be contacted at 315-221-7026. There is a VA Medical Center in Syracuse.

A veteran is never responsible for the full cost of VA care. Some veterans pay co-pays for care, while others MAY be treated at no cost. Treatment for a service-connected condition, to include medications, is provided at no cost.  If a non-rated condition is treated, there MAY be a co-pay. If a veteran has a combined service-connected rating of 50% or higher, they are generally not charged for any primary care, even if the condition is not rated.

To be treated by the VA, a veteran must be enrolled in the Health Care system. To enroll, a veteran must complete a VA Form 10-10EZ. Contact the VA clinic at the number above for times when enrollment can be completed at the clinic by VA staff.
