Homeless Program

Reducing the rates of homelessness of our veterans is a very high priority of the VA. Progress has been made to reduce the number of homeless veterans, but efforts continue to reduce the rate to zero. The local VA Homeless Program helps veteran find and keep safe, affordable housing and MAY be able to help keep vet's in their home by providing limited financial assistance.

Besides housing, the program helps veterans enroll in the VA Health Care Network, reviews and assists with VA education applications, assists with seeking employment and more.

To be eligible for the services, a veteran must:

  • be eligible to enroll in VA Health Care
  • be homeless or at risk of homelessness (ie; eviction notice)
  • have income at 50% of the Area Medium Income (AMI), or lower
