K9 Abel, born in Ontario, Canada on March 12, 2016, is a Belgian Malinois that joined the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit in March of 2017.  His handler is Deputy Sheriff Jeffrey M. Froelich.  K-9 Abel is a dual-purpose K-9 that is trained and certified in patrol tracking, including suspect apprehension and K-9 handler protection.  In addition, Abel is also trained and certified in advanced narcotics detection.


K9 Mike was born in Czechoslovakia on November 10, 2011.  K-9 Mike became a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in May of 2013 and he lives with and is maintained by his handler Deputy Sheriff Shawn M. Ryan.  K-9 Mike is a German Shepherd and he is certified in patrol tracking, narcotics detection, handler protection and article searching.  K-9 Mike's high energy and strong personality make him an enjoyable challenge to work with.


K9 Scout is a male German Shepherd that was born on January 2nd, 2012.  He is certified in explosive detection, tracking and handler protection.  Scout's handler and partner is Deputy Sheriff Adam B. Hallett.
