Classroom Training Grants

Classroom Training Grants

We are now accepting applications for the Spring 2021 semester!

The deadline to apply for this grant is Friday, January 15, 2021.

Classroom training grants are available for customers entering into an approved training program, provided you meet certain eligibility requirements and we having funding available.

When can we help?

We can help if you're pursuing education in an occupation that's in high demand in Jefferson & Lewis counties and meets the following requirements:

  • The education will lead to a sustainable wage job
  • You have 2 years or less to finish your degree
  • The classes you need to take are either not eligible for financial aid or cost more than your financial aid will cover.

**Please note that we can only pay for tuition & required fees.  We cannot help with the cost of books, lodging, or transportation at this time.**

If this fits your situation, please take a look at the Classroom Training Steps link below, which will give you the information you need to seek a Classroom Training Grant from The WorkPlace.

To apply, please complete the forms below and return them to:

The WorkPlace
1000 Coffeen Street
Watertown, NY 13601

If you’re currently working you don’t need to complete the Work Search Record, but will need to provide your last 2 pay stubs.  If you’re not working, the Work Search Record must be completed.  All other forms need to be completed fully, as this is how we determine if you’re eligible for funding.  If you have a question on a form, please don't hesitate to contact us for assistance!

What occupations are in high demand?

While our in-demand occupations change frequently, the following occupations seem to always be in need:

 HVAC & Plumbers

 Electronic Repair Technicians
